Chew this

At RCIA tonight, the question asked and we were told to discuss was: The Lord Jesus is the shepherd... are you willing to be the lamb?

Do the lambs need the shepherd or does the shepherd need his lambs?

A lamb is still a lamb without a shepherd. A lamb without its shepherd does not make it any less a lamb.

A shepherd loses its function to be a shepherd if he doesn't have his lambs. Consequently, he's redundant.

That shepherd might as well be a Regional Director of Market Research... redundant position, if not for all the people working under him. Sometimes, redundant especially because of all the people working under him. (No offence to anyone in that position though... keke)

My answer, by the way, was a resounding 'No'.

Sorry, I still don't buy the J-fella fiction.

1st Quarter report

This is the first time since Emman and I got together, that I will walk through customs immigration without him and he stays in little red dot.

I know he doesn't think highly of Taiwanese food. Besides, we just came back fruitful from Hong Kong. So, nope... I will not buy any snacks for you, dardee. =)

The first quarter of 2011 has been really eventful and I found myself passing weekends so quickly, from one to the next to the next. It's about feasting (CNY), social gatherings (farewell, Chaw Su!), a couple of weddings (ROM and gatecrashes) and 2 short holidays!

What a lot of financial output!

I'm looking forward to a slightly slower and more relaxing April and May period. Let's just rot a bit more, hang out a bit more at cafes, read a bit more on lazy Sundays and watch a couple movies.

Before we know it, half the year would have passed. How near was it when we counted down to 2011!

one of those conversations...

me: So, did Didi (aka Sydney the paper-tiger dog) do better today at the daycare?
jas: Not really. About the same.
me: Still depressed?
jas: Ya.
me: Then, Hugo (aka the korkor dog)? Also depressed?
jas: Ya.
me: Well, it's ok then! At least, they are depressed together.

I'm an optimist towards depressed dogs.

Week Ten

The boyfriend is in Jakarta for work and the cupcake is in Bintan for a self-indulgent retreat.

I am here, in Island Home, on a normal Sunday night, trying to finish the last bit of my herbal tea and then, sleep.

Work has been busy this term, i.e. ending soon. Not just work keeping my schedule tight. Janet's ROM too, and of cos the festive season that was merely a month ago, but feels like longer than that.

A break is in sight. In fact, 2 breaks. One to a much loved country (or SAR) and another to a new experience ground (the island of the bro-in-law). I am, of course, looking forward to both. So, this week must be a good week, for anticipation of happiness in the form of holiday is sweet.

Hence, I shall turn in now. To start the week soon. And perhaps, meet the boyfriend and the cupcake in my dreams.
